| North Carolina State Board of Dental Examiners Rule §21 NCAC 16Q .0301(i)(1) requires a dentist to complete at least 24 hours of instructive classroom training, document 3 live patient experiences, and obtain a permit before administering Moderate oral sedation to their adult patients.* |

require a permit. Grandfathering is also
authorized for obtaining a

| DOCS Education’s 'Oral Sedation Dentistry' course is approved by the North Carolina State Board of Dental Examiners as a program that meets the classroom training (didactic) requirement for a minimal or limited moderate conscious sedation permit.** Seminars will be held in DC or Atlanta.

| Pediatric Sedation |
|
| Minimal sedation for children is a
unique science and requires pediatric-
specific training. The standard of care
for providing pediatric minimal sedation
requires several hours of instructive
classroom training with clinically-
oriented experiences. This training is
available in Memphis.

|

Practicing oral sedation has many advantages for you, not the least of which is treating a more comfortable patient. Other advantages are: performing more dentistry in a single visit instead of having the patient come back again and again; bigger restorative cases from patients who were previously reluctant due to anxiety; and patients feeling little to no post-operative discomfort regardless of the procedure - resulting in more referrals.
